120 Afghan Widows Empowered

As you can imagine, there are many widows in Afghanistan, after early a half century of war. It’s estimated there are nearly 2 million. And life for widows has been termed “precarious” and their futures “uncertain” in what is a very patriarchal society. We see conditions for them as much worse. Options for women are very limited and there are societal stigmas—many struggle to survive. We are determined to help these women have hope and a sustainable future, and to gain a sense of self-worth.

In 2022, we were able to provide skills training to 120 widows, empowering them to become self-sufficient and enhance their livelihood opportunities.

We ask for your continued support so we can help provide for widows and so many vulnerable women and children in Afghanistan.
